About

Air pollution, particularly aerosols, contributes significantly to the uncertainty in climate change projections. Aerosols affect cloud formation, atmospheric radiation, and regional climate, making air pollution a major root cause of current climate disasters. Furthermore, the health impacts of air pollution are a major concern in Asia and the Pacific region. Sound scientific evidence is crucial for minimizing the health impacts of air pollution. Reducing air pollution has co-benefits in slowing down climate change and protecting public health.

The objective of the AI Hi-ASAP is to provide early to mid-career practitioners and researchers from the research teams interested in the Hi-ASAP initiative in Asia and the Pacific region with knowledge, experience, and hands-on practices about the techniques and methodologies required to conduct the comparable research on air pollution-related disaster risks.
