2024 Advanced Institute –
Environment Exposure and Health Impacts in South-East Asia
About
Exposure to environmental pollution, encompassing air and water contaminants, has been associated with numerous health risks, including chronic diseases regionally and globally. This complex mixture of compounds originates from various sources, and there is little evidence of the health effects of different types of pollutants, which may uniquely contribute to the global burden of disease.

This Advanced Institute (AI) is designed to enhance regional capacity in addressing the challenges posed by environmental exposure and health impacts, encompassing both air and water pollution in South-East Asia. It is organized by the Integrated Research on Disaster Risk International Centre of Excellence, Taipei (IRDR ICoE-Taipei), of the Academia Sinica in Taiwan, in collaboration with the International Science Council (ISC) and Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF) in Vietnam. Renowned lecturers from institutions such as National Central University (NCU), Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry (TUAF), Kaohsiung Municipal Siaogang Hospital (KMSH), and National Center for Water Planning and Investigation (NAWAPI) are invited to contribute their expertise.
